Biography
Dr Satpal Arri is a consultant interventional cardiologist at St Thomas’ Hospital where he treats both private and NHS patients.
He graduated with distinction from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ School of Medicine in 2006 and was elected Member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2009. Dr Arri completed advanced specialist training in cardiology and interventional cardiology at several internationally recognised cardiac centres, including King’s College Hospital and St Thomas’ Hospital, London. He subsequently undertook the highly competitive British Society of Cardiology Interventional Fellowship at Auckland City Hospital, one of the Southern Hemisphere’s leading centres for complex coronary and structural heart intervention. He was later appointed Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Auckland City Hospital, where he performed high-risk complex coronary interventions and played a key role in developing innovative cardiology services in rural regions.
Following his return to the UK, Dr Arri was appointed consultant interventional cardiologist at St Thomas’ Hospital, London. Dr Arri specialises in complex coronary and structural heart interventions and provides expert consultation across a broad range of cardiovascular conditions, including chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, hypertension, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and cardiovascular risk assessment.
Research
Dr Arri is a former British Heart Foundation Clinical Research Fellow and was awarded a PhD in Coronary Physiology from King’s College London in 2019. His doctoral research investigated the mechanisms by which mental stress contributes to cardiovascular disease and heart attacks.
He has been invited to present his work at numerous national and international scientific meetings and has contributed to over 40 publications in high-impact international journals, as well as authoring multiple book chapters. His current research interests focus on translational research and large-scale clinical trials aimed at improving cardiovascular outcomes and patient care.
